NY Public Library

Inside the NY Public Library I decided to take one of those guided tours and here are the pictures I took. It’s a great place!

The Gutenberg Bible

Outside, there were cameras, lots of people standing and parts of the street blocked: they were filming Glee!

Bryant park - ice skating

Today I went to one of my favorite places in NYC: the Bryant park and I realized the Christmas spirit is already around...Maybe it were the songs that we could listen to on the park, or the people showing their best moves in ice skating, or even the small stores that open inside the park just for this season!

My Top 5 list

(a post with no pictures)

During a training I attended last week, the trainer listed his four most beautiful places in the world:
-         San Francisco (USA)
-         Cape Town (South Africa)
-         Rio de Janeiro (Brasil)
-         Hong Kong (China)

Since then I have been thinking about my own list.
If I consider the world, Lisboa would be the leader. For everything! But that will be a topic for another post.
For now I am listing my top 5 for USA:

1. New York
For being full of life, day and night. For the buildings, the central Park, the Battery Park and the Bryant Park (my favorite), for the stores and restaurants, for the yellow cabs, for Times Square, for the universities, for the Brooklyn bridge (and the others), for the museums, for Little Italy and the Broadway shows, For the public library...

2. San Francisco
For the hills and lombard Street. For the cable cars, the Golden Gate, Alcatraz and China Town. For the piers...

3. Boston
For Boston harbor, the beautiful bay. For MIT and Harvard. For Cambridge and the Italian neighborhood. For the architecture...

4. Washington
For being modern, with large streets. For the White House, the U.S. Capitol, the Lincoln monument (huge). For the parks and free museums, for Georgetown and the University...

5. Chicago
For the skyline. For the Sears Tower and its floor made of glass. For the peanut monument and its surroundings. For the lake. For the beaches...

A rose to wear

Princeton University Art Museum

The collections range from ancient to contemporary, from Mediterranean regions, Asia, Western Europe and Americas.
According to the guide, this is one of the nation's (USA) leading art museums.
Here's a little bit of what I saw.
